An-Sofie Desmet

An-Sofie obtained her Master's in Law from KU Leuven in 2016, specialising in private and tax law. She subsequently completed a Master's in Notarial Law, further deepening her expertise in family property law.
In 2017, she was called to the Bar and began her professional career as an attorney at a Mechelen-based firm. In 2021, she joined FAIRWAY – Partners in Law and Mediation, with a particular focus on family law, inheritance law, and mediation.
Clients value her expert advice, empathetic approach, and solution-oriented thinking. She translates legal complexity into practical solutions that take into account the emotions, relationships, and interests of all parties involved. When necessary, she acts decisively and assertively to protect her clients' interests.
An-Sofie is also a certified mediator in family matters, helping families resolve conflicts in a respectful and constructive manner. She firmly believes in the power of dialogue and mediation: by bringing parties back into conversation, she creates space for mutual understanding and lasting agreements.
